2021 Art in the Paddock at Wave Hill Station & Farm Stay
The Gallery Foundation is encouraging supporters to be quick to book into the very popular Art in the Paddock being held at the historic Wave Hill Station and Farm Stay on Sunday 6 June from 10.30am to 4pm.
Everyone is invited to this large gathering of artists, craftspeople, musicians, artists and art lovers of the Clarence Valley and nearby regions. Tickets for entry, for High Teas and Cheese & Wine tasting sessions can be booked online at www.thegalleryfoundation.com.au and are selling fast.
Enjoy our beautiful early winter weather as you take in a rolling program of live music and a display by over 50 artists. Sculptors, blacksmiths, potters, leather workers, painters, glass makers and textile artists are presenting their work as well as demonstrating. Artists will be busy painting, drawing and blacksmithing throughout the day.
Wander through the gardens and take in the grand Upper Clarence Valley setting. Chairs are available and you may like to bring a picnic rug to simply soak in the music and ambience of the day.
The Gallery Foundation Chair, Rod Watters, said, “On the barbecue we have the delicious beef of Holiday Coast Meats or enjoy a veggie burger, all topped with great regional produce and Nicholson Fine Food relishes.”
“Visitors can also enjoy coffee, homemade cakes and slices, or book into a High Tea sitting for the savoury and sweet delights of a traditional treat.”
“As for drinks”, said Mr Watters, “guests can quench their thirst at our famous homemade lemonade stall and later in the day taste the fine Granite Belt wines of Robert Channon Wines and crisp Coopers beers.”
Wave Hill Station is roughly an hour’s drive from Grafton. For convenience, the Foundation has organised a bus which starts at Yamba with pickups at Maclean and Grafton costing $25 return. Otherwise, guests can travel by car and park on the grounds. Entry costs $25 with school children and pre-schoolers free.
This fundraiser is presented by The Gallery Foundation, a group of art loving volunteers who work to ensure the lively future of the Grafton Regional Gallery.
